Obtained from industrially produced corn, BioVeg redefines ecological standards by significantly reducing environmental impact.
In fact, every square meter produced contributes to a net saving of 1 kg of CO2 compared to the production of traditional materials.
UNEP estimates food waste at around 17% of global food production: around 931 million tonnes each year.
Only a small part of these are recycled and reused, such as apple peels and cores with which this long-lived and versatile material was made.
The pineapple industry produces around 40 thousand tons of leaves every year and these are considered a waste material.
With 480 leaves (approximately 16 pineapple plants) it is possible to obtain 1 square meter of this material with a refined and original style.
Approximately 10 million tons of pomace are discarded by the wine industry in wine production every year.
Grape stems, skins and seeds are part of the “pomace”, the residue from the grape juice extraction process, which can be used to create this resistant and flexible material.
More than 460 million plastic and 115 million tons of cotton are produced every year, but only a small % is recycled.
We thought about using them for some components of our sneakers such as the laces, the label, the ribbon and the sole, the lining and other elements.

A trend that will never go out of fashion!
Animal Free Fashion is the project of the Anti Vivisection League created to promote ethical, sustainable fashion that respects all animals. Accompanying companies on a path of gradual elimination of animal materials from their collections, LAV enhances their commitment with its ethical rating: from V to VVV+
made in europe
Europe is the only source of supply, both for the purchase of materials and for production.
certified companies
From ISO to GRS, all the companies we turn to have environmental certifications.
RENEWABLE ENERGIES
Our choice falls on companies that enhance the use of renewable energy in their production chain.
RECYCLING AND REUSE
Adherence to the key principles of "recycling and reuse" is a priority for the companies we collaborate with.
Our courier launched the initiative ThinkGreen: use of bicycles and electric vehicles for the last mile and LNG line vehicles for long distances.
By joining the Climate Protect program, in 2022 we achieved climate neutrality by offsetting 683kg of CO2: look at the certificate.
To reduce our CO2 emissions, we schedule all shipments of this e-commerce site on just 2 days of the week.
We also optimize size changes, collecting the product to be changed and delivering the new one in a single trip.
The box containing the shoes is a single piece which includes the lid. It is made of 100% recyclable FSC certified cardboard, made with 90% recycled paper.
Even the paper used to wrap the shoes is partially FSC recycled.
Inside you will find a seed bomb covered in earth and clay: to plant in a pot, or to throw into a gray area of your city.
The envelopes we use for shipping are made of compostable bioplastic according to EN 13432.
When broken or worn, you can return them via bins located in various Italian cities
together with ESO RECYCLING we will give sneakers a second life in the form of new products
There is not only the environmental impact linked to the production phases, but also that which is generated at the end of a product's life cycle.
To reduce the accumulation of waste to be disposed of and transform it from waste into a resource, we have entered into a partnership with two Italian companies that support sustainable businesses in circular economy solutions: Must Had and Eso Recycling.
Thanks to this alliance we are able to offer our customers the possibility of disposing of old and no longer usable sneakers in a recycling plant which allows us to extend their possibilities of use.
How does recycling happen?
ESO RECYCLING has patented an industrial process for recycling sports waste.
The plant present in their Tolentino headquarters is capable of recovering 87% of the materials that make up a pair of sneakers, with the future goal of being able to reach 95%.
Specifically, by shredding the soles, rubber granules are obtained for the construction of flooring in athletics tracks and playgrounds, while from the uppers a material is obtained for the production of sound-absorbing or heat-insulating panels.
The impact report
Must Had is the platform that gives a second life to textile waste, helping companies identify the best circular solutions.
Every year they will be responsible for drawing up our impact report, a balance sheet that reports the general environmental impacts of the initiative.
